Liz & Dewayne’s Wedding Album

I’m really excited to share the finished wedding album for Liz & Dewayne’s wedding. I love being a part of weddings and producing these awesome albums for couples and find fulfillment in seeing how all of the work comes together in these gorgeous products. I shot a video of me going through the book page by page. I talked about my approach to photographing weddings and how my offerings are different and unique. Then at the 4:45 minute mark I share each page of Liz and Dewayne’s album. I uploaded a full HD version of the video so you could watch it with clarity and with more detail full-screen if you’re so inclined.

Liz and Dewayne are a great couple to work with and their previous shoots that I’ve posted to my blog and Facebook have created a huge response, so aside from my own excitement, I know there are a lot of people who want to see their final book. Here are some of the double-page spreads from their album.

Braden & Miranda’s Early Wedding Sneak Peek St. George Utah Temple

Braden and Miranda were married last weekend in the St. George Utah LDS temple, and they had me there to create some wonderful and romantic images for them. I love shooting wedding couples. I like the happiness, the romance, and the wonderful feelings at weddings, and I really like capturing that feeling in photographs that couples will keep for decades.

This particular morning was quiet and serene, and shooting earlier in the day also helped us beat the 100º desert heat that came later in the day. I’ve loved sorting through these portraits and wanted to share a few early favorites of mine in this sneak peek.

I created a mix of color and black and white, full-lengths, close-ups, as well as images with both a classic and modern appeal. I especially like this emotional set built as a trio.

The St. George Utah temple is set in a desert climate, and the stark white building with the direct desert sun makes for a great contrast against the blue sky. It’s a wonderful background for these romantic couple portraits.

And this sequence of Braden “helping” with Miranda’s sunglasses made makes me laugh.

Kim’s Portland Temple LDS Wedding Sneak Peek

Kim’s wedding was really magical. Besides being a beautiful bride, we also had the gorgeous backdrop of Portland and the LDS temple were they got married, plus a stormy sky for drama. Here is an early sneak peek into some of my favorites from her wedding day.

When I was parking for the wedding, I found this spot that looks out into the forest. It make for a great location for these images that I made into a trio.

Lindsey’s Wedding Sneak Peek, Salt Lake Temple in 100º Weather

I recently shot Lindsey’s wedding during Utah’s recent and very hot heat wave. In fact, temperatures that day were over 100º at times. But that didn’t stop us from shooting outside in the sweltering heat, but it did mean we had to work quickly outside and it meant that I needed lots of external lighting to beat the sun for great skin tones and a deep blue sky. The Salt Lake LDS Temple makes for a great backdrop in her wedding images, and here are a few of my early favorites.

During one of my breaks, I took advantage of the hot day to shoot some really cool infrared black and white photos of the temple. They’ll be a great accent in the album design.

When there is that much sun, it means lots of infrared in the air – a band of light that is invisible to the human eye. Because vegetation reflects infrared energy, leaves and trees many times will turn white while the sky will go very dark. And with these images being 30 second exposures, you can see the movements and softness of various leaves and they moved and blew in the breeze.

Jessica & Cory’s Wedding Sneak Peek at the Beautiful Draper Temple

Last weekend I photographed Jessica and Cory’s wedding at the LDS Draper temple. It was a beautiful sunny day, …in fact very hot at 100º. The sky was blue, we had great clouds for a dramatic background, and Jessica and Cory were great together. All that together meant that we created some wonderful images for their upcoming wedding album design. Here are some of my early favorites.

The reception was held outdoors at a beautiful home in Alpine, Utah. We had a great view of the mountains and the sunset. The party below wend on into the night as the couple’s closest friends came and enjoyed the music and the wonderful night.

Liz & Dewayne’s Bridal & Pre-Wedding Portraits

I’ve been excited to share the images from Liz & Dewayne’s bridal and pre-wedding shoot, but wanted to wait until after their wedding. As you can see, we had a great time creating some wonderful portraits in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah using streets, textures, and pillars as out backdrop.

This dancing image above is great as both a stand alone image as well as in this trio sequence.

The long lines in these pillars really makes a powerful impact, especially mixed with this great kiss.

These two really look great together. And having shot tons of couples over the years, I especially noticed that these two were extra thoughtful and helpful with each other. Something I had to comment on during the shoot. But that feeling really shows in the images and makes these all the more romantic and powerful.

As the sun dropped low, the trees in the distance created some wonderfully abstract shadows on these pillars, but also let a pocket of light light through in just the right spot to highlight the couple.

It made a great place to also do a portrait of just Dewayne.

And to close, it’s always fun to shoot and design up a collage of the bridal details in black & white, showing enhances on the ribbons, lace, shoes, ring, flowers, buttons, and hair.

Liz & Dewayne’s Engagement Portraits

I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Liz and Dewayne’s engagement portraits. They are a great couple together, and we created so many wonderful and romantic images that it was hard to narrow them down. Here are a few of my favorites.

Being a photographer based outside of Salt Lake City, Utah, I’ve got a lot of options right here at my studio. For a lot of variety, we shot both outside in the studio gardens as well as inside the studio, and in color and black and white. And I always like to do a few images of the bride and groom individually too. For these I went with my high-contrast black and white series and these two images look wonderful together.

This image is the official invitation photograph. I really like how great they both look, the sparkles in their smiles, and how close they are to each other in this. I love photographing couples that are happy together because the images are even more romantic.

I also can’t wait to share the bridal portraits, as they are really out of this world. But I will hold off until after the wedding so that the dress can be kept a surprise.

LaRae’s Wedding Sneak Peek

I had the pleasure of photographing LaRae’s wedding. It was a beautiful spring day full of joy and romance, and we were lucky to be able to shoot some images outside. The wedding was held in Layton, Utah at the Chantilly Mansion, and all the vivid colors made for a wonderful background to work. LaRae wore a vintage fur that she had inherited from her grandmother, and it really set off her wedding dress. We really had a blast taking photos that day and I wanted you to see some before the album is ready to show.

Jolie’s Wedding Album Design, Timpanogos Temple

Jolie’s wedding at the Timpanogas Temple in American Fork, Utah is beautiful. It was a hot day which meant a deep blue sky with the right handling of light. And mixed with the couple’s really fun personalities, the images are great and romantic. You may have seen their sneak peek earlier on my blog, but I wanted you to see the entire album.

Michelle’s Wedding Album at the Rock Church & Providence Bed & Breakfast (Logan, Utah)

I’ve been excited to post this wedding for some time because I had a wonderful day photographing Michelle & Tysen’s wedding at the Rock Church & Providence Bed & Breakfast in Logan, Utah.

The couple is so wonderful together, the day was planned perfectly, and the emotion in these images is wonderful. There was a lot of attention to detail with beautiful gifts for the guests, gorgeous flowers, a wonderful backdrop of flowy material and tall trees, and the sunset was stunning. The entire collection of images are romantic, dramatic, and the images tell the story beautifully. Here is their entire album design as a slideshow from morning until sunset.

The album design starts in the morning with the couple getting ready, then it moves to the bride and groom seeing each other for the first time (first sight portraits). Then before guests arrived, we took some time walking around and creating some really romantic images of just the couple. Then the ceremony starts, you see the family groupings, and then the really fun reception complete with live music, croquet, and bocce ball.

Kamberlyn’s Windy Wedding Album Salt Lake Temple

I am finishing up and shipping out a lot of wedding albums right now, and Kamberlyn’s album is one I must share. Ever since I posted the sneak peek of her wedding, people have been talking about these images. Here are a few of them again.

Most photographers see weather as something that must be avoided, but I love it. It gives me a chance to really stand out and use creative lighting and posing in creative ways for really impactful images. And this windy day of Kami’s made for a lot of impact and emotion throughout the album. Plus this couple is a dance team, and you can see the chemistry between them.

So here is her entire album design, shown as a slideshow to music, with each double-page spread shown as a slide. The wedding starts at the Salt Lake Temple, continues on with lots of romantic couple portraits, before going across the street to the City Creek for the reception.

Hopefully you notice the artistry, the clarity, the romance, the weather, the dancing skills, and what a beautiful day this is.

Janae’s Wedding Album Is Gorgeous, Bountiful LDS Temple

Janae & Jason’s wedding album is finished and I am boxing it up to ship out to them. It looks so amazing that I had to share it here. You may remember the sneak peek from their wedding, well here is the final product, their finished album and briefcase. I shot this video today before shipping it out so you could see what it looks like.

I love photographing weddings. They are romantic and inspiring, and I love putting my heart and soul into every detail, and creating wonderful finished products that future grandchildren will fight over.

This wedding was on a stormy spring day, which meant with the right use of lighting, I was able to capture this amazing sky in their background for really dramatic images.

There is a lot that happens on a wedding day, and that means there is a lot to photograph. So here is a video showing the entire day.
