Braden & Miranda’s Early Wedding Sneak Peek St. George Utah Temple

Braden and Miranda were married last weekend in the St. George Utah LDS temple, and they had me there to create some wonderful and romantic images for them. I love shooting wedding couples. I like the happiness, the romance, and the wonderful feelings at weddings, and I really like capturing that feeling in photographs that couples will keep for decades.

This particular morning was quiet and serene, and shooting earlier in the day also helped us beat the 100º desert heat that came later in the day. I’ve loved sorting through these portraits and wanted to share a few early favorites of mine in this sneak peek.

BryCox_BradyWedding_01 BryCox_BradyWedding_02

I created a mix of color and black and white, full-lengths, close-ups, as well as images with both a classic and modern appeal. I especially like this emotional set built as a trio.

BryCox_BradyWedding_03

The St. George Utah temple is set in a desert climate, and the stark white building with the direct desert sun makes for a great contrast against the blue sky. It’s a wonderful background for these romantic couple portraits.

And this sequence of Braden “helping” with Miranda’s sunglasses made makes me laugh.

If you’re getting married, give me a call at 801-728-3317. I’d love to create something artistic and romantic for you.

Photographs are the one thing we spend money on from a wedding that lasts. They are enjoyed by us, our children and future generations. Avoid the regrets of cheaper options and let me create something powerful and beautiful for you on your special day. I have price options ranging from partial coverage with an emphasis on romantic images to full-day coverage with multiple locations where I follow you throughout your day and tell your story in magnificent custom books. No matter your level, you’ll know you have images that you love now and for years to come.

Until next time, America.

Liz & Dewayne’s Bridal & Pre-Wedding Portraits

I’ve been excited to share the images from Liz & Dewayne’s bridal and pre-wedding shoot, but wanted to wait until after their wedding. As you can see, we had a great time creating some wonderful portraits in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah using streets, textures, and pillars as out backdrop.

BryCox_Liz_Dewayne_Bridal_01 BryCox_Liz_Dewayne_Bridal_02

This dancing image above is great as both a stand alone image as well as in this trio sequence.

BryCox_Liz_Dewayne_Bridal_03 BryCox_Liz_Dewayne_Bridal_04 BryCox_Liz_Dewayne_Bridal_05

The long lines in these pillars really makes a powerful impact, especially mixed with this great kiss. BryCox_Liz_Dewayne_Bridal_06 BryCox_Liz_Dewayne_Bridal_07

These two really look great together. And having shot tons of couples over the years, I especially noticed that these two were extra thoughtful and helpful with each other. Something I had to comment on during the shoot. But that feeling really shows in the images and makes these all the more romantic and powerful.BryCox_Liz_Dewayne_Bridal_08 BryCox_Liz_Dewayne_Bridal_09

As the sun dropped low, the trees in the distance created some wonderfully abstract shadows on these pillars, but also let a pocket of light light through in just the right spot to highlight the couple.
BryCox_Liz_Dewayne_Bridal_10

It made a great place to also do a portrait of just Dewayne.BryCox_Liz_Dewayne_Bridal_11

And to close, it’s always fun to shoot and design up a collage of the bridal details in black & white, showing enhances on the ribbons, lace, shoes, ring, flowers, buttons, and hair.

I know you’ll want to see some of their wedding photos and I will for sure post some later. But in the meantime, if you’re getting married and are looking for some incredible images, give me a call at 801-728-3317.

Jolie’s Wedding Sneak Peek at Timpanogas LDS Temple

Jolie’s wedding images are so pretty, I wanted to share a few right now before the album design is done. In fact, these first two images have no retouching or photoshop work outside of adding my custom edges and signing the corners. The deep blue sky and vivid colors were all done with lighting, and I love how great these look already, before I even start to work.

These two were a hoot to photograph and their personalities were great. I love how they are looking at each other in these two images. They got married on a hot and beautiful day, which meant I could really pull in a blue sky with some dramatic lighting, and I like framing them with the architecture of the temple. They are the main focus, but the design behind makes for a great overall piece.

And here is a gorgeous image of the two of them from the far corner of the temple grounds, something with some timeless appeal but still really fun.Cox_JHales-W-1027

This infrared black and white of the Timpanogas LDS temple, will probably be how I start out the album. I shot it for the opening page, but we’ll see how the actual design comes out when I’m all done with itCox_JHales-W-1004

Well if you’re getting married, I’d love to meet with you. Give me a call at 801-728-3317. I am a Utah based photographer and I work all over Utah and the US.

If you want more info on how I shoot weddings, here’s some details and examples for you.

Rachel’s Bride & Groom Portraits at Utah’s Grand America

This weekend I photographed Rachel’s wedding, but on a different day before her wedding we went to the Grand America (because her wedding dinner would be there) and created some incredible bridal portraits – some with the groom. The idea was to have these on display at her dinner, and then in her home after the wedding. Here are some of my favorites from the shoot.

The Grand America is a AAA Five Diamond hotel, and every detail is regal. I have always loved creating images there. The setting is perfect for those romantic and beautifully classic portraits for your wall. When I mix this beautiful location with my exquisite lighting style and attention to detail, the results are breath-taking images that will stand the test of time and will continue to evoke emotion when viewing in years to come.

I am so happy that this couple found each other and were married this weekend. Once their wedding album is designed, I’ll post it as well.

If you are an upcoming bride and love great portraits, knowing that photographic art is the only thing you keep from your wedding, then give me a call. I know how to make you look amazing in any location. I would love to meet with you and talk about why the images I create for you will be emotional, unique and different. 801-728-3317.

Rachelle’s Wedding Album On a Rainy Day at the Salt Lake Temple & Utah State Capitol Building

I’m so excited for you to see Rachelle’s wedding album. You may have seen her bridals in a previous post, but now her album is completely finished.

Here is a video of me showing the album, page by page. It ends with a slideshow of each page so you can really see the images.

Rachelle’s wedding was at the Salt Lake Temple with reception at the Salt Lake Capitol building. The weather report projected bad weather, but the day surprised us. It started out sunny but cool still, but soon turned to a very heavy rainstorm which was a lot of fun photographically and made for some fun wedding memories.

Cox_Rachelle-W-1Cox_Rachelle-W-2

I love weddings for both the romance in the air as well as the artistic challenge involved. I love creating something awesome for each client, no matter what. When you look at this wedding, you’ll notice that every page spread is gorgeous and it doesn’t matter the time of day, location, or weather. The entire album is magical, and for years they will be able to look through this book and remember their day.

Weddings are a big deal to me, and nothing about how I create products for weddings is half-hearted. Every wedding I do is finished in one of my award winning wedding albums like this, as well as an Italian made briefcase to carry the album in. To see more about my wedding albums, see this past blog entry on my wedding albums.

And if you’re getting married, give me a call and let’s talk about your dream images and how I can create something amazing for you.

Until next time, America.

Marisa’s Engagement and Bridals

I recently photographed Marisa’s wedding and thought about posting her engagements and bridals here to celebrate her wedding day, but I didn’t want her fiancé Ben to accidentaly see the bridals before the ceremony. So I am now sharing these images and am excited for you all to see them. I’m starting with some of her bridal images. Because it was a cold fall day, we started inside in the warm studio to create these.

Cox_Marisa01

Marisa looks so elegant and beautiful in these images. There were so many great images, it was hard to pick some favorites, but these were some of them.Cox_Marisa02 Cox_Marisa03

At one point, the rain seemed to stop so we hurried outside and shot a bit in the leaves. This dancing trio is a collection of some of our favorite images outside before the rain started up again.

Cox_Marisa04

And here are some of Marisa and Ben’s engagements. We did a mix session with multiple studio backgrounds and lighting setups as well as some outdoor images as well in the studio gardens.Cox_Marisa05 Cox_Marisa06 Cox_Marisa07

These two were so fun to photograph and are such a great couple. We were laughing most of the time when we weren’t shooting. I think they look great together and I am excited that they found each other.

Cox_Marisa08

I really love how these images turned out. They had a great variety of images and the display of images at the wedding reception looked amazing. Cox_Marisa10

And to close, here is a sneak peek of the wedding day. Though the album will take some time to design, this is one of my favorites from the day. I will for sure share their entire wedding album once it is ready.

Cox_Marisa-W

If you are getting married now is the time to give me a call and reserve your day as it is that time of year when brides are booking dates. Or feel free to just call me and ask any questions you may have. 801-728-3317

Video About My Custom Wedding Albums

Today I took some time to record a video about my wedding albums. They are so unique and so beautiful and gorgeous, that people really do have to see them to fully appreciate them. But people are busy and some of my clients live in other states, so today I set up the video camera and some lights and shot some video of me talking about and showing some of my albums.

See what you think.

If you’d like to see more weddings, you can look both here on my blog, as well as on my main website, BryCox.com.

If you’re getting married, give me a call and let’s talk more about your wedding details and meet if possible so you can look through some of my wedding albums firsthand. My number is 801-728-3317

Rachelle’s Bridals and First View Portraits

I am so glad to have been the photographer for Rachelle’s wedding events. She is so beautiful and full of life that her images just glow. This is her bridal shoot which also included some portraits with her groom, and so we started off the shoot as a first view – where the groom sees her in her gown for the first time. His reaction is golden!

I took the entire shoot and created this slideshow for their wedding reception, and thought it’d be fun to share it on my blog too.

And here are some of the images from the shoot.

Cox_RSnow_B-798-2Cox_RSnow_B-543-2

Bridal portraits are taken before the wedding so that images can be created for display at the wedding reception, and to create the type of images that you normally don’t have time for on a wedding day. Cox_RSnow_B-813-bwI love the lines framing the bride and the lighting shaping her and drawing you into where she is standing.

Cox_RSnow_B-638-2

And here is one from outside, using the blue sky and shadows to frame and create interest around the couple.Cox_RSnow_B-755

Rachelle is a dancer, so you’ll notice the dancing images of her in the video above. The entire shoot was a blast despite the sweltering heat that day. But it made for some beautiful blue skies and directional lighting.

If you are a new bride, give me a call. I’d love to work with you and create some fantastic photographs for you. 801-728-3317

Melina’s Bridals and Pre-Wedding Portraits

I had the pleasure this week to create these images of Melina for her upcoming wedding. The session was a lot of fun, and we got some incredible images. This first one is one of my favorites. I really love her profile and expression in this, and how the light shapes and sets of her dress.

Cox_MHernandez-B-605-edge-8x10

And in the same set, a relaxed and beautiful smile.

Cox_MHernandez-B-584-edge

While shooting in b&w, I also created this detail series of Melina’s dress.

Cox_MHernandez-B-8x20-The-Delta-Red-I-I

We did a series of images in the studio and outside in the studio gardens for variety, including full-lengths, mid-lengths, close-ups, and couple portraits, and with a variety of backgrounds. One of my favorite sets was on the fashion gray. I finished these with some of my custom edges.

Cox_MHernandez-B-521-edgeCox_MHernandez-B-503-edge

We mixed the bridal session with a Pre-Wedding session to include some images of the groom. These two were great together and were very photogenic. Cox_MHernandez-B-545-edge

This series is great, particularly because of Melina’s genuine expressions.

And some of just the groom alone.Cox_MHernandez-B-530-8x10And here is one of my favorites from outside in the studio gardens. Their expressions are perfect, the leaning and relaxed pose is wonderful, and the background looks so good. Right now the outdoor studio gardens are green and looking great. It is a great time to book and shoot outside.

Cox_MHernandez-B-688-8x10

This was such a fun shoot and this couple was a joy to work with. I really hope that they have a great wedding and a wonderful future together.

Sophie and Jeff’s Wedding Album & Show, Draper Temple in the Fall

Sophie and Jeff had a beautiful wedding, and it is now up on my website. They got married in the Draper LDS temple and had their reception at the Garden Place at Heritage Park in Salt Lake City during the fall.

I’ve created this show for their DVD, which includes some of the best images set to music.

Their wedding was one of my favorites. The love between these two was very apparent, and their family and friends all showed their excitement for the marriage of these two. The strong emotions on that day made for a great set of images that made it hard to narrow down in creating their heirloom album design. On top of that, the couple was very attractive and the locations and weather were all wonderful.

You can view their entire wedding album design on my main website and see every page. Here are some of the pages below, shown as double-page spreads.

Ashley’s Bridal Images

Ashley just did a fun mix of studio bridal portraits, including color and b&w, classic and edgy, close-ups and full length. Here are some of our favorites.

We did some in my white “lipstick” chair on a dark background to draw attention to Ashley’s white dress, and we situated her in such a way to really show off her fun shoes. This also shows one of the variations in how she may or may not wear her veil.

Cox_AJones-B-694

Next, is one of my favorites from the high-key, light-on-light set up. I used a fashion style of lighting to really make her eyes pop, and along with her great expression, fun veil, and Edgy-Edge finish, this image really sings. I think it’s probably my favorite from the entire shoot. It’s really a killer print up close.Cox_AJones-B-565-edge

And of course no bridal session is complete without a beautiful classic full-length. For this one we used very directional lighting for more extreme shadows to create more drama in the image. This really shows her entire dress and will be an image that she loves for years to come.Cox_AJones-B-576

I also created these collages, the first showing some of my favorites from the high-key fashion set up…

Cox_AJones-B-8x20-ooo-AnnaMarie

…and the second collage designed as a square to show off all of the various details, from her jewelry to her veil to her dress. I love creating these collages because they can show various images, moods, and textures all in one framed wall piece. And this particular design really shows a lot of personality I think.

Cox_AJones-B-21x21-Nine-Print-Composite-darkIt’s amazing how many people are going for beautiful studio portraits right now, breaking away from the look of cheap photographers who are photographing in alleys.

And because I have an indoor studio, now is a great time to make your appointment for bridals and take advantage of some promos going on. Give me a call at 801-728-3317 and let’s create some dream portraits for you.

Until next time, America.
