Stephanie’s Engagements

Well I’ve been out of town a lot lately, and have gotten behind on the blog posts, but I have a lot to put and am not sure if I can get it all up before more cool shoots come along to blog about.

But for now I have to tell you how excited I am about these images from Stephanie’s engagement session.  This first image is a painting that I’ve been working on.  It uses a new technique I’ve been working on and utilizes some of my brand new brushes that I’ve developed for photographers.

I love the feeling of the entire image, how great the couple looks, the vibrant surreal colors, the abstract shapes in the trees and grass….  I’m very excited to get this finished and on canvas!

This next series is a nine-image composite of the couple.  I love how in love they are and am excited for their wedding!

Composites are great for couples I think to show motion, and emotion.  I designed up two for them, this one above and this treo below.

Well that’s it for now.  I’ll get some more of my projects up quickly!  I’ve got a lot of new things to show.

Until next time, America!

Nicole & Ammon’s Wedding

What a fun morning.  Today, Nicole and Ammon came in to see their final wedding album design, as a large slideshow projection in the theater, here at the studio.

It is such a beautiful design and I’ve been excited for them to come and see it.  Here is one of  my favorite page spreads from the album.  If you are unfamiliar with my albums, this spread represents two pages, like an open book.

Their wedding was held at the Salt Lake Temple with their reception at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.  They are a great couple and have been very fun to work with.

To see their entire album in slideshow form, click here.  I think you’ll see that they are very photogenic and very much in love.  There is a lot of sparkle in these two which really makes the album amazing!

Until next time, America!

Gateway Wedding Show this Saturday

BryCox - Gateway Wedding Show

BryCox - Gateway Wedding Show

This Saturday, I’ll be at the Gateway Wedding Show, located in the Grand Ballroom next to The Depot at the Gateway.  The show goes from 10 am to 4 pm and it should be a lot of fun.  I’ll be bringing some new albums and some new beautiful samples to show.

Bridal shows are a great way to see and compare different photographers and other wedding vendors very quickly, and I’m excited for you to come and see me and what I do, and to compare the quality and value against anyone else.

If you’re getting married, stop by and say hi.  It’d be fun to see you.

Until Saturday, America!

Portraits & Relationships

One of the things that I love about creating photographs is capturing relationships and preserving those feelings and emotions in an artful way.  Today I worked on this order for a couple that is getting married soon.  The images are from a ‘Pre-Session’….a session of the bride and groom before the wedding.

Emily

I love this image of them hugging each other.  They have such a beautiful sparkle in their eyes.

This is Emily alone in her wedding dress.  It will be finished as a long, skinny, horizontal wall image.

Here is a design I created for them too.  It shows a lot of emotions and feelings all in one composite, designed to keep your eye flowing throughout.

I love doing these kinds of sessions.  They are really fun and fulfilling.  This couple has a lot of love for each other, and I think it really shows.  I wish them luck in their new life together.

So to everyone else out there, remember that you can hire me for this kind of a session whether you use me for your entire wedding or not.  Give me a call and tell me about your dream portrait and let’s make it happen!

Until next time, America!

New DVD Portfolio, Updated Website

I have a new portfolio DVD for 2009, and it is all finished and ready for you!  It is formatted for your large widescreen home theater so that you can view the images large and in the comfort of your own home.

Bry Cox - Portfolio DVD

Bry Cox - Portfolio DVD

This DVD includes specific slideshows on weddings, bridals, families, children, high school seniors, models, as well as some entire wedding albums so that you can see how I might tell the story of your day from start to finish.  You can order one for free right off my main website, here. (Click on Free DVD on menu.)

You can watch it on any DVD player or computer, both Mac and PC.  The music is amazing and was all written and recorded by my sister, Elise.  Each music score was specifically chosen for each slideshow to accentuate the mood of the images.  It is a wonderful DVD and I know you will all love it.

 ————————————————————————–
Note to photographers: I can understand how other photographers may want to frequent my site, and I appreciate that. However, I received thousands of requests from photographers for my last portfolio DVD, photographers not wanting to hire me but to get ideas for themselves.

If you are a photographer, please understand that I spent a lot of money and time producing these DVDs and am happy to give them for free only to clients and potential clients. I cannot respond to photographers requests for free DVDs, but you can certainly order them for a cost (along with many other photographic items) in the store part of my photographic workshop site.  Thanks for understanding.

And until next time, America!

Trish’s Wedding Album Design

I finished Trish’s wedding album the other night, and am really excited for her to come see the design work.  The wedding was held in the White Chapel, across the street from the State Capitol building in Salt Lake City.  All week leading up to the wedding, the weather was crazy and it looked like it was going to rain on the wedding day too.  And there was a little rain in the morning, but the weather couldn’t have turned out better!  I love using weather to create mood in an image and this was a great day for that!

The reception was then held just down the street at the historic McCune Mansion.  That is such a great location and made for great architecture inside and out to accent the photographs as well as the events of the day.

Below is an album page layout showing two pages up (as if the book was opened to this spread).  This segment shows us out in front of the chapel and then segues to the McCune Mansion with the couple walking down the street.  I have the entire album uploaded as a slideshow for you to see here.

This next design spread shows the reception near the end, cutting the cake and dancing.  I loved the color and design of the cake and used it as a background behind the other photographs.  It gave this spread just the right accent.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!  And until next time, America!

Courtney’s Wedding Album

I have another wedding album up online, and it is magical!  Courtney came in today to see her final wedding album design.  I love absolutely this!  The wedding was held at the Salt Lake Temple in Utah with the reception at the Bungalow in American Fork.

I uploaded the design as a slideshow today so you can check it out!

By the way, the slideshow shows the album as an open book, with two pages showing at a time, like the image above which came from her design.

I absolutely love this album.  The couple is so happy and their love really shows.  I’m very proud of my work here; the images are fantastic.  I love the colors, the soft lighting, the ambiance, and the entire feeling of the day and album….not to mention that Courtney looks fantastic.  To see some of her bridals, refer back to this blog entry.

Come in to the studio to see this design close-up, or if you’d like me to do a wedding for you, or even just some bridal portraits, then give me a call.

Until next time, America!

Erica’s Engagements

Today Erica came in to preview her Engagement portraits.  We did the photo session last week during the big rain storm.  Though I had to reschedule some family portraits because of the rain, I LOVE using the rain and weather to add mood to engagement portraits.

We got soaked, but the images look great.  You can see the rain falling in the air in some of them, and I love the look and feel of the air, sky, and the wet ground too.  Here’s a square wall composite from the session — such a beautiful grouping!

I also created a painted canvas portrait for the client using one of the photographs as a reference.  I chose this particular image for this because I love the story-telling in just their legs.  Here is a preview of how it will look when it is finished.

Her bridals are coming up soon, and I am very excited now for that session.  She is very photogenic and we will create some amazing images, I know.

So, until next time, America!

Wedding: Ashley & Brett

I just finished and a new wedding album design for Ashley & Brett.  Here are some of the images from the album.

It was an incredible wedding and I really love the album design.  The bride came in today to see the finished design with her family, and absolutely loved it!

The wedding was held at the Logan, Utah temple and the reception was in the bride’s yard.

I love this image below.  I used one of my special techniques to create this black & white which is toned warm and cool — warm in the highlights and cool in the shadows.

To see the entire album, check out the wedding album design as a slideshow.  Remember that the design shows two pages up at a time, as if the book were open.  Check it out and enjoy!

More AWARDS!!

Winning awards year after year is a way of showing you the client, that you will always receive a high level of consistency and quality in the portraits that I create for you.  My entire life is about creating high-quality heirlooms for you down to the tiniest detail, and it is nice to receive awards recognizing that.

I am very pleased to announce that I won two awards for my album, Angie & Steve which you can see in full right here.

Albums are judged on image quality and design throughout the entire book.  The first award was First Place Master Album.  I then won the Fuji Masterpiece Award for the entire wedding division from this album as well.  This makes a total of 6 total Fuji Masterpiece Awards now in my collection.

BryCox - Angie & Steve

My next two images, though they didn’t win first, still did very well.  This image below, won 2nd place Master Portrait

Bry Cox - Door Stopper

…and this image won 3rd place Master of Electronic Imaging.  This was in the Electronic Imaging section because the background was completely created in post-production using tools that I sell photographers (available in the Products section of the BryCoxWorkshops.com site).

Bry Cox - Beautiful Dreamer

Even though these images placed 2nd and 3rd (which is very hard in the Master division), I still expected them to do better.  Nevertheless, they go on from here to compete for Regional and National awards where I know they will do extremely well for sure.

This competition was part of the Intermountain Professional Photographer annual convention and print competition.  There are two divisions in the print competition: General for the general photographers, and Masters for Master Photographers.  As a Master, I compete in the Masters division.

Well, that’s it for today.  Until next time, America!

Trish’s Engagements

I had a really fun and amazing engagement shoot over the weekend.  Here are some of the images from it.

BryCox - Trish

They are of my friend, Trish, who is getting married very soon.  This was my first time meeting her fiance.  I think that he is a really great guy, and together they make a really good-looking couple!  I loved how these images turned out.

BryCox - Trish

Next we’ll do the bridal session which I’m really excited for.  She is very photogenic and has a great sense of style.  They will be awesome!

Until next time, America!

Ashley’s Wedding

This weekend I photographed a fabulous wedding for a bride named Ashley.  Here are some of the images I created for her prior to the wedding.  These images are not just of the bride, but also include the groom — what I call a ‘pre-session.’  The magic is to have these images finished and ready for display at the wedding for all the guests to see.

Bry Cox - Ashley

These next images I created for a panoramic set.  They looked amazing, finished and framed at the wedding.  Without going into why, let me just tell you that these images are very difficult to create, not only to do well.  I am very pleased with the results.  I also designed these images to really show the emotion of the couple, using the horizon and the incredible sky.

And finally, here is a beautiful series of the bride sitting on a really cool old blue truck.  This was one of the bride’s favorite.

Well, that’s it for today.  I’m excited for this cooler weather and for fall to come.  I love creating images this time of year.  If you are new to my site, looking around, and need some incredible photographs, please give me a call.

Until next time, America!
